EAGG Gather & Grow
🌱 🌱EAGG enjoyed the first 'Gather & Grow' session. Spearheaded by member Kate Ma, Sustainability and Ops wizardess, a group of members gorged on matcha chocolate and pineapple cakes and downed gallons of tea over some serious chat and learnings. An amazing innaugural session, the first of many!
🗻 EAGG is delighted to have been right at the start of the connection between two members, Christine Chang Hanway and Nancy Vong Johnston. Their fertile creativity and deep experience have given rise to Source Mountain, their new venture that connects us all to the mountains. You will be reading much more about it here over the next few months and there are more details here.
⚓️ Voice ESEA's annual exhibition was in full swing this month in Spitalfields. Centered around the lost histories of the six Chinese seamen who survived the sinking of the Titanic, Voice ESEA's Director Abbey Wong (EAGG member!) and team shone a light on their hidden stories. With a film screening, panel talk and online interview with the film director and author of the book, it was a sold out success. For those in or near Manchester, a mirror event will be taking place Friday, May 24th. All details here.

👭 👭 👭 What began as a small gathering of three women in 2022 has blossomed into a vibrant community of over 50 remarkable individuals. The East Asian Girl Gang (EAGG) brings together women from across Britain who share East Asian (and a few South-East Asian) roots, spanning an extraordinary range of professions—from the creative realms of fashion and art and ballet to the precision worlds of science and finance and entrepreneurship. 👭 👭 👭 Beyond our diverse career paths, we've discovered something more profound: the unexpected connections and shared experiences that unite us. When I first envisioned EAGG, my goal was simple yet meaningful—to create a space where women of all ages could forge genuine friendships, amplify our collective voice, celebrate each other's achievements, and provide mutual support based on our shared heritage. Now, watching the group evolve, I'm struck by how beautifully we've already begun to realize that vision.
