The filmfollows Aishe, an Uyghur woman trained by her military tather, as she migrates to New York City and finds herself labouring in Chinatown's underground kitchens. There, she fatefully encounters Skinner, a young American soldier recently returned from three tours on duty. While falling in love, they discover the possibility of a better life together than the ones they believed they were destined to live alone.
