Lost LA - The rise, fall and rise of LA's Japan Town

Updated: Oct 22

It's a minority of a minority, but those Japanese Americans who lived on the West Coast of both America and Canada who were forcibly relocated during WW11 left behind a thriving Japantown in LA. What happened to it? This is the seriously moving story tracking the rise and fall and rise of LA's Japantown. From Little Tokyo to Crenshaw

The question is...what happened to other West Coast Japantowns? The tiny one I grew up with in Vancouver (Canada) slowly faded away and today is nothing but a memory and a an annual Japan festival. Does anyone know why some have flourished and some have perished?
